Yale-NUS Security: Yale-NUS has a 24-hour security service hotline to aid students in any emergency. The number for the hotline is Tel: 6601-3696.
Three Residential Colleges: Students will be placed in one of the three residential colleges (Saga, Elm, or Cendana) with guaranteed housing for all of their four years.
The Learning Commons: Study spaces make the Learning Commons a social place for students and faculty to interact and collaborate. The Learning Commons also sports more than just books. The commons is filled with digital resources and technology-enabled study spaces designed to help you and your peers work smarter.
Performance Hall: The Performance Hall is foremost a student space: if you and your peers want to put together a conference or symposium, you may well host your opening session right here! Availability is limited; learn more about booking the Performance Hall and other venues by clicking here.
Butteries: Each Yale-NUS residential college has a late-night snack cafe known as a “buttery”: Shiok Shack (Saga), Shiner’s Diner (Elm), and The Nest (Cendana). These butteries bring students together for noodles, omelettes, burgers, and special food items to fuel you for nocturnal activity, academic and otherwise.
Sky Gardens: The residential towers at Yale-NUS feature layered communities anchored by sky gardens, open spaces every two or three floors designed to make high-rise living more social. Each one is equipped with picnic tables, plants, benches, and outdoor common spaces, creating a sense of a close-knit neighbourhood.
Artistic Spaces: Our array of resources for the arts include a dance studio, musical practice rooms, recording studio, visual arts studios, a black-box theater, and a performance hall.
Student Commons: This is the central location in each college where Rector’s Teas, speakers, small celebrations and gatherings are held.
Laundry rooms: Located in all three Residential Colleges, laundry rooms provide washers and dryers for students to use free of charge.
Fitness Centre: Every student has access to this centre, which contains a variety of cardio and strength equipment.
Multi Purpose Hall (MPH): Students can gather here for active pursuits including basketball, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, floorball, yoga, interval training and tchoukball. The MPH is also used for large social gatherings.
Dining Halls: Meals in the dining hall are among the highlights of every student’s daily life at Yale-NUS College. These are moments for the entire community, including the Rector, Assistant Deans, Dean’s Fellows, Residential College Advisors, faculty members, and the administration, to come together in an informal setting. Each Residential College has its own dining hall where any student, no matter the college, can eat. Learn more about the Dining Experience by clicking here.
