I was a former Singapore National Wushu (Chinese Martial Arts) athlete. I started my career as a Wushu Coach and went on to work with student athletes as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Singapore Sports School (SSP) and the National Youth Sports Institute for more than six years. I was also appointed the Multi-Sports Coach for the Ministry of Education – Junior Sports Academy programme which aims to strengthen the overall physical competencies and motivation in sports at the primary school level and have served as a Manager-Coach in various overseas training camps to Japan, China and New Zealand.
Before joining Yale-NUS College, I worked in the Business Office of SSP, managing sports facilities and hosting foreign delegates and sports teams from around the world. Concurrently, I held appointment as the Assistant Housemaster with the Boarding School of SSP, mentoring student athletes, aspiring them to balance sports and academic success.
As quoted by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, “Treat people as if they were what they ought to be, and you help them to become what they are capable of being.” My goal is to cultivate a culture of active living in the College community through Athletics & Recreation programming.Fun Fact
