Andrew McGeehan

Associate Director

I am originally from New Jersey, but my life’s travels have given me the opportunity to live in seven different states in the US (New Jersey, Iowa, California, Texas, Maine, Washington, and Massachusetts)! I did my undergrad at Chapman University in southern California where I studied Art History. After Chapman, I worked at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, before heading to Seattle University for my Master’s in Student Development Administration. Since then, I have spent three years as a Residence Director at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, four months on the Semester at Sea Fall 2014 voyage as a Residence Director, and a stint as the Interim Assistant Director for Housing at Springfield College. I love working with students, engaging them in critical conversations, and seeing the growth and development that comes from a college experience. Additionally, my interests include the humanities (particularly art and literature), social justice, identity politics, exploring the world, drinking lots of coffee, and trying as many new foods as possible!

Advice for Students

Dive into the deep end. Form significant relationships with people (staff, faculty, other students, Residential Life Officers, etc) that go beyond the surface level. Ask for help when you need it. Enjoy every moment and explore Singapore to its fullest!

Fun Fact

I currently have twelve tattoos and I've read everything that Haruki Murakami has written.
