Here at Yale-NUS College, our mandatory Orientation serves as a key programme for students to transition into a new phase of their academic journey and personal development. And just as importantly, it is an opportunity for individuals to explore and engage with the wider Yale-NUS community.
As such, Orientation poses these four key questions:
This year is no different!
Even during these unprecedented and uncertain times, the committee of staff and student leaders are dedicated to creating a programme that would encapsulate the values and essence of the Yale-NUS experience.
With that said, the team has modified the traditional format of orientation to accommodate these new circumstances. Thus, this year’s programme will be a hybrid of online and offline activities.
More specifically, you will be required to complete a number of online sessions to learn about our community resources prior to/during your arrival on-campus. After campus move-in ending on 2 Aug, our in-person meetings will be similar to classes where we will maintain social distancing and limit the number of students in each space.
But not to fret if you are unable to arrive on campus. The committee will be working on online sessions and activities to accommodate these students. No matter where you are around the world, we want you to be able to connect and experience Orientation together with your peers!
More information will be shared in the sections below.
We hope you’re excited as we are! Get ready Class of 2024 – we will see you very soon.
