NUS Student Health Scheme
To highlight a few enhancements, all pre-existing illnesses leading to hospitalization and specialist consultation are now covered upon inception#1, local & international students no longer need to “save (the emergency visit#2) for the rainy day or for fear of the co-payment#3 for justifiable hospital emergency visits after hours, as students are now covered with annual limit of one thousand dollar for hospital emergency visits including specialist visits#2, local under graduate’s hospitalization and surgery benefit is now covered by insurance as compared to UHC previously. We encourage everyone to continue with prudent usage of medical resources to ensure sustainability.

University Health Center Outpatient Visits
University Health Center continues to provide general and specialist outpatient visits with full fee waiver for doctor’s consultation and standard medication for all undergraduate students. Charges applied for non-standard medication and minimal co-payment for basic diagnostic laboratory tests, X-ray and surgical procedures. Refer Consultation & treatment fee for details.
Please note that University Health Center covers local student’s mental health and exchange student has no UHC general outpatient coverage.
General Practitioner Clinic and Polyclinic Visits
Undergraduate students are encouraged to visit UHC during operating hours for medical attention.
Visit to GPs and polyclinic after UHC operating hours due to emergencies, claim is limited to 50% co-payment per visit, reimbursable up to $60 per visit, and limit to 2 visits per policy year. Refer to University Health Scheme or table below for details.
